List of WBC managed sites - click for map of sensitive areas
- Sensitive management areas are marked on the maps as a red polygon.
- Sensitive areas are 100m radii from known locations for the four fully protected herpeta species (Smooth snake, Sand lizard, Natterjack toad and Great crested newt). Additional to these foci, Adder hibernacula are included as sensitive areas, due to the absolute reliance of this species upon ancestral hibernacula.
- Other herpeta species locations are represented by black dots.
- Sensitive management areas should be hand-managed where possible, with extreme caution around possible hibernacula sites - E.g. gorse thickets, linear changes to the habitat structure, slopes, tree stumps and mounds.
