The SARG Committee
Steve Langham Steve is responsible for the generation and submission of SARG policy and planning to the committee for approval. He co-ordinates closely with the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (ARC) Trust and other key stakeholders. He has an interest in nature photography, particularly reptiles. Steve is also the SARG webmaster. |
Kevin Morgan Kevin is a naturalist with considerable experience from Antarctica to the Amazon, and from whale-watching to swimming with dolphins. He is also an ecological consultant, specialising in birds, reptiles and amphibians. He is a well respected speaker and organiser of ecologically sound tourist expeditions. |
Richard Anstis Rick is Senior Lecturer in Procurement at The National School of Government. He is also a keen amateur naturalist, and is a published author on wildlife topics. He is Secretary of Surrey Amphibian and Reptile Group, and holds a licence for conservation work with endangered species. |
Gareth Matthes Gareth is a self-employed herpetological consultant, and regularly assists with habitat management across the county. He has been a long-term supporter of SARG having held the posts of Chair and Amphibians Officer. Due to his increasing commitments with the Haslemere fire service, Gareth currently maintains a seat on the SARG committee, without a specific role, other than to apply the benefit of his experience and common sense to our planning. |
Danial Winchester Danial is currently the SARG Amphibians Officer, having previously held the positions of Chair and Operations Officer. Danial is responsible for the planning of the county-wide amphibian survey and training programmes, and coordinates with the volunteers at the many Surrey registered toad crossings. Danial is a professional ecological consultant as well as an active and experienced volunteer. |
Ralph Wycherley Ralph is one of the two remaining inaugural members of SARG. Since 1987 his main interest has been amphibians and their habitats. He is experienced in pond assessment, construction and management. He is involved with amphibian and reptile survey and general habitat management and holds the SARG tools and loads of basic equipment. |
Jamel Guenioui, Jamel is a zoology graduate with a keen interest in herpetology. Due to his work with the Surrey Wildlife Trust he has practical experience from a variety of habitats. As a surveyor for the last few years he holds a licence for protected species. Jamel also has an interest in wildlife photography. |
Mary Campling, Mary is a Data Officer for the Surrey Biological Records Centre, working to improve data flow within the county. She has a keen interest in many taxon groups but specialises in reptiles. She is also working towards a Masters in Biodiversity Management by assessing reptile populations on Frensham Common. |
